If you think whole IPL-6 was fixed...and Why IPL must go on

If you think whole IPL-6 was fixed......

Apart from 3 RR players, other people have been accused because of betting and not fixing! Betting is illegal in India! But "Betting" doesn't prove that someone has "Fixed" a match!
Many were saying that the whole IPL was fixed when the Police arrested Shreesanth, Chandila and Ankit Chavan... and then Vindoo Dara Singh, CSK's team principal Gurunath Meiyappan and many more Betters!

From my understanding, Spot fixing and Match Fixing and Tournament Fixing are very different from each other. To fix a match, one of the 2 teams will play really bad cricket intentionally. And to fix a tournament, I don't think only one team's participation in fixing is enough.

So when you say that the whole tournament is fixed, you unintentionally accuse each and every player playing the tournament. That means, you are accusing the legends of cricket like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Jacques Kallis and many more. Without them knowing about it, it would never happen. So when you say that the whole IPL was fixed you are questioning the "fair play" of these legends. You must take into account these factors, when you criticize the whole tournament.

And if you think that everything is fixed,  then why do you watch the matches? If you think that all is fixed then just switch off your TV sets and never watch! Others (real cricket fans) who believe that this is pure cricket, let them watch peacefully!!

Why IPL must go on.....

IPL is a mega event. From young cricketers' perspective it's a huge opportunity to prove themselves on International Level. IPL is telecast all over the world, attracting people from non-cricket playing nations as well. And one bad incident doesn't mean that whole tournament is bad.

Young domestic players get a golden opportunity to play against and with world class cricket players. They get a chance to prove themselves, they emerge as heroes. This is what Amit Mishra thinks about IPL- "IPL has helped a lot to improve my bowling having competed with the best batsmen in the world. In fact, most of the talent in Indian cricket is coming through IPL as it is providing an ideal platform to the talented players."
Do you remember when Fixing Scandal (Test Matches) of Hansie Cronje, Azaruddin, Ajay Jadeja came into light, people were really upset and angry, but that didn't ban Test Cricket. It's not about running away from what we face, but to face it, try to improve it and make it more successful!! THE SHOW MUST GO ON!!!

We have to nullify the politician's effect and the corrupt people from the BCCI and let the former cricket players handle the country's topmost cricket board. Supreme Court has done a really good job to appoint Mr. Sunil Gavaskar to handle IPL-7 related issues. I still feel that he should have been given full charge of the BCCI making him the President for every cricketing issue.

  1. Oslo I don't watch IPL but u say about players getting a chance wat I say is cricketers got a chance earlier to but earlier they had to fight now all the managers see is how hard u hit or how many dots u get. This is no cricket it is a rush entertainment system developed for working people. U talk about Sachin, he got so good being in ranji and I bet so did rahul. I mean rather than wasting crores of rupees on this y not on removing poverty??? If this was cricket how much has India progressed?? Contradict me and provide me wrong

    1. Yes, Indian cricket has progressed bcz of IPL as well! Where would you get chance to captain some international stallwards? IPL has given chance to youngsters like Kohli, Dhawan, Rohit, Gambhir to captain such stallwards! Also they are in race for India's next captain, so it's the best platform to feel the pressure of captaincy! Yes, i agree that these ypung kids should give equal importance to Ranji matches as well! Rahul, Sachin r still part of IPL so I can say trusting them that this is helping Indian cricket for sure! And yes IPL is meant for entertainment by BCCI, but its a great opportunity for players as well!
Many retired cricketers are also benifitted bcz of IPL, they are being paid by the bcci, which they shld have got at their period!
About Indoa's poverty, yes the question remains, whether this much money should be used or not, but as a cricket fan i won't oppose it, but i will suggest to use the profit of IPL to help the poorer section of our xountry!

    2. You are saying that Ranji should get importance? Because that was real cricket. People used to enjoy it but now the face of cricket has changed. You can see yourself what happened to India in India England test match............... I had gone to see the match and iIndian team was hopeless as a cockroach on water. Way happened to India's test games? Ganguly is one of our renounced cricket player. Okay so u say that cricket helps cricketers experience different positions but being a captain in IPL and being the captain of the Indian cricket team are two different things which cannot be compared. Some of the captains are not even Indian. So basically it also gives foreign team players a chance but have u ever seen the premier leagues of England ever inviting Indian cricketers no because they really want to support their cricketers. We want to make profit that's it.........................................

    3. That's what I am saying, captaining some of the greats in international cricket is not an easy thing, and IPL is giving the opportunity for Indian youngsters! And about Indian players not playing in their leagues is just bcz of our packed international schedule. Yes they are invited to play in those leagues! Players like Malinga, Murali Karthik, Gilchrist, Gayle etc play all over the world!! Indians are serving India at that time!
And about India losing in England and also back in India have some other reasons. At that time not a single team was performing well in abroad. It was that period of time when every team was performing good only in their own backyard. And our players were awfully out of form. India losing in India against England was only because our spinners were not able to turn the ball like England's spinners!
Profit is one of the objectives of IPL

    4. Then tell me why doesn't Indian team have balanced players like other teams? Other teams have players good enough. Now the face of cricket has changed due to IPL. While watching IPL you cannot tell how good a player is............ It all depends on the mood of the player. Good mood good game and bad mood bad game. If u have a look at the catchouts in IPL then u will realise that most of them are because the batsman wanted to hit high but he hit the ball by the wrong spot on bat. And now I would like to bring up the betting topic. It is highly unethical for a cricketerto bet. Now u say they bet, but if a player bets on his own match where he is supposed to play a role then it is not betting it is fixing. So now tell me why did those players bet. They bet because they wanted money from a game of chance. So what I am trying to say is IPL cricket is many time based on chance factor

    5. At least from my information not a single player is caught betting in IPL so far!
And its not on mood at all... that is the pressure I was talking about. Youngsters need to handle pressure. You can watch Rahane's batting for that matter!
About retired players playing in IPL, they are here to enjoy cricket, they even teach the youngsters basics of cricket. About International players playing false shots, its the part of their team's gameplan, Kohli went to open the innings against RR n played false shot, he was trying to attack from d ball one, and that was part of RCB's gameplan cz gayle takes time to settle down before he explodes so its all about tactics and gameplans!!
And ya India is producing balanced players like Dhawan, Jaddu, Bhuvi, Rahane etc! They are all performing well in IPL n carrying there form forward in international matches as well!

  2. If u agree or not IPL is a wildcard into selection to the indian cricket team. Earlier the players became who they became by making friends and rivals and learning from them but now most of them play for different reasons and learn from retired players as you say. As I have played cricket i can very well say that i have learned more by playing with my friends and rivals than listening to senior players. If you talk about tactics and gameplay then I highly doubt that the "tactics" that these teams use is bullshit!!! (sorry for that but had to use it bro). cricket tactics can never start by the opener trying to score a century............

    1. Well, as its said experience is always useful. So learning from retired players is always beneficial. You can see Wasim Akram coach of KKR giving tips to Lasith Malinga of MI only because of IPL. It's of course useful. All the players say so. and players like Sachin Dravid have also confirmed that IPL is beneficial for Indian Cricket. Player like Sanju Samson would have gone unnoticed because Ranji matches are not telecast world-wide. IPL has given him the platform and is a strong contestant for wicket keeper batsman in Indian Team (at age of 19)! On the other hand Pravin Tambe (age 42) who never got chance to play in Indian team, will be remembered as one of the oldest player to play IPL and getting a hattrick. It's those small things which make IPL huge success not only in terms of money but also for young and old players too!!!
